Will Those Under Grace Have To Give an Account?
by John Reese
This is a valid question. Doesn't grace exclude us from such judgment. Actually we should be glad the blood of Christ was laid to our account. If not we would never pass God's judgment. Yet, Jesus said every man would give an account as did Paul in
II Corinthians 5:10
for we must all stand before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad...
Many today say this could not be true under grace. But it is. So I searched to find areas where we could be held accountable, even as Christians.
Hypocrisy - Matthew 5:20
Unforgiving spirit - Matthew 6:15
Unmerciful - James 2:13
benevolence - Matthew 25:34-46
wickedness and laziness Matthew 25:26-30
Sowing to the flesh - Colossians 3:5-6, Gal.6:7-8, Gal.5:19-21
None of these discount the grace of God. Grace requires us to sincerely repent and do our best to serve God.
Acts 3:19
repent therefore and be converted that your sins might be blotted out, and times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord...
We will not be able to fool Jesus when we stand in judgment. Make a life saving decision to walk as Christ has called you. Then his grace will cover you.
